Service Description

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) affect over 20 million people every year. STI testing at Innovative Wellness Clinic in California is offered in a safe, supportive environment in order to ensure the health of the community. Book an appointment online or by phone if you are experiencing symptoms of STIs or are due for a screening. WHICH DISEASES ARE TESTED FOR STIs? Many forms of testing can be used to detect sexually transmitted diseases (STIs), including urine and blood tests. In view of the fact that STI symptoms vary depending on the specific cause, we at Innovative Wellness Clinic perform a variety of tests to determine the exact cause. Once we identify the symptoms, we perform any of the following tests for the most common STDs: • HIV • Herpes • Syphilis • Chlamydia • Genital warts • Gonorrhea • Trichomoniasis • Hepatitis B An STD screening should be scheduled once a year, and this can typically be done during an annual exam. It may be necessary to come in more frequently if one has tested positive for an STI before. If one has tested positive for HIV or believes they may have been exposed to it, we recommend scheduling a test every six months. HOW CAN I GET AN STI TEST DONE? Multiple STDs can sometimes be detected using a single sample, for example: • Samples of urine and blood • Swabs of the anal area • Swabs from discharge or sores • Swabs from the discharge of genitals • Swabs of the inside of the mouth HOW ARE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS TREATED? Sexually transmitted infections are treated according to their diagnosis. Our staff at Innovative Wellness Clinic is compassionate and knowledgeable, and we provide effective therapies to help manage STIs quickly, privately, and with the fewest complications as possible. An STI caused by a virus, such as herpes or hepatitis, requires an individualized medication regimen, while an STI caused by bacteria, such as gonorrhea, requires antibiotics. Our team of experts recommends prevention and symptom management options to prevent the spread and severity of AIDS and HIV.
