Service Description

WHAT IS A SPORTS PHYSICAL? Unlike routine medical checkups, a sports physical aims to determine if participating in a particular sport is safe. The first step in beginning a new sporting season is to assess your physical fitness, learn about conditions and injuries that may affect playing a sport, and prevent future injuries. WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SPORTS PHYSICAL? During your appointment at IWC Primary Care, your healthcare provider will ask about your personal medical history, family history, and prior injuries. Additionally, we will also: • Measure blood pressure and pulse • Test vision • Measure height and weight • Perform a physical • Assess joints for strength, flexibility, and posture WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE EVALUATION? • Immunization Records • Sports Physical Forms provided by sporting team • List of medications and allergies, as well as reactions • Contact lenses, glasses, and any orthotic devices • List of injuries and hospitalizations with dates Book a Sports Physical to learn more
